The only OFW Business Expo in the country opens today. MegaBalikbayan OFW Expo, Dec. 9-11, 2011 opens today with a lot of fun fare and excitement aim at serving OFWs and Balikbayan.
The event boasts more than 250 exhibitors in covering 1,530 square meters exhibition area. The profile of exhibitors covers food franchising, health and beauty franchising, technology franchising, banks and investment, and cars.
There are also livelihood showcases coming from OFW Advocates, Filipino Migrant Workers, and Philippine Association of Exporters, Inc. (PASEI).
Gov. El Rey Villafuerte of Camarines Sur and Undersecretary Grace Tirona of the Commission for Filipino Overseas lead the opening ceremony.
After the ceremony, the 3rd Outstanding OFW and Balikbayan Reputation Award (OBRA) follows with this year awardees namely: Mr. Ronaldo Velasco and Ms. Gundelina Sale – Outstanding Community Builder; Mr. Randy Ahorro – Outstanding Entrepreneur; Ms. Myrna Padilla – Outstanding Entrepreneur; Engr. Francisco Aguilar Jr. – Outstanding in Work Ethics; Dr. Carlito Astillero – Outstanding Family Builder; Mr. Rogelio San Andres and Mr. Prudencio Garcia – Outstanding in Positive Deed/Character.
A lot of raffle prizes, entertainment and seminars are in store for the visitors of the event.
