Are you looking for a
life-changing career? Being an entrepreneur maybe the path that is destined for
you.
Here are three reasons why
it is cool to be an entrepreneur.
1. Freedom
Freedom is one of the benefits
of being an entrepreneur. Freedom to do what you love to do can be the key to
catapult you to success.
If you love what you are
doing that is not work. Sometime this is the only thing that will matter in
order for you to cross the threshold going to success.
2. Creativity
Creativity is one of the
results that freedom provides. Since there is scarcity in your resources in
starting your dream business you are forced to be creative in order to make
your business survive.
Necessity is the mother of
invention and this becomes alive when you as an entrepreneur is pushed to the
wall to be creative.
We see a lot of creative
outputs coming from successful entrepreneurs. Most of them said that these
outputs are borne out of the need to survive.
3. Personal Growth
The different hats an
entrepreneur wears is the catalyst for his fast personal growth.
As an entrepreneur, you need
to know marketing, accounting, sales, human resources management, and a lot
more.
This makes an entrepreneur a
multi-talented individual. The prize he earned for entering the exciting life
of entrepreneurship.
Freedom, Creativity and
Personal Growth are benefits that one gets for choosing to be an entrepreneur.
If you will develop these
three things for being an entrepreneur, no doubt about it entrepreneurship is
one of the coolest careers.
If you want to know more
about how cool entrepreneurship is visit the Philippine Business and Entrepreneurs Expo, July 25-27,2014 at
Megatrade, SM Megamall.

Having a business is a
challenge. It is not a walk in the park. But it is also rewarding. To see you
efforts and sleepless nights result into a growing business is a great feeling.
Here are 3 critical areas
that SMEs must monitor to ensure the sustainability of the business, and
maintain the great feeling of running a growing business.
1. Talent Pool
In the age of War for
Talent, you need to ensure that you get the right talent for the job. This is
easier said than done.
Also, you need to monitor
the rising cost of acquiring, training and maintaining the Talent.
You cannot take advantage of
the opportunities that knock on the door of your business if you lack the
Talents to help you in maximizing the opportunities.
On the other hand, if you
have Talents but their cost is higher than what the present opportunities bring
to you, it means you have a losing business.
2. Competition
As the competition becomes
tougher and the barrier to entry in your industry becomes lighter you must
always be nimble and wired to the moves and actions of your competitors.
Think about Nokia and Black
Berry, successful brands that failed to keep in step with their competitions.
Always study the competition
and never rests on your past success.
Cash is king. I was
witnessed to a lot of businesses folding-up despite their strong demand in the
market for one important reason they cannot pay the operation of their business
because they lack Cash.
Cash Flow is the blood that
continuously provides air to your business. Always make sure that your cash
flow is good so that you can grab all the opportunities your industry offers.
You don’t need a deep pocket
to maintain a healthy cash flow, what you need is a balance between your
accounts receivables, accounts payable and cash on hand.
Again, easier said than
done. But who says running a business is easy. It is difficult but fulfilling.
A fulfillment you cannot event equate to money.

A week has passed. MICECON 2014 ended with a bang and if you
are not there being a member of the tourism industry, here are the top 5
reasons you missed it BIG TIME!
1.
The
Great Speakers
Speakers are the heart and soul of MICECON 2014. I enjoyed
the talk of Theresa Breining about the Industry’s Evolution and Revolution and
Shawna Suckow’s Winning Business in Tradeshows. But what brought the house down
is Carelle Mangaliag’s talk on Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). For me she
is the star of the event because of the way she connected with the audience. And
yes, I must say this she is a Filipina.
2.
The
MICECON Mobile Event App
Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) partnered with Guidebook to
produce a mobile app that can be downloaded in the delegates’ smartphones. This
gave most of the delegates ease and comfort in knowing the event program and
other vital information, less the heavy papers.
3.
The
Fantastic Opening Ceremony
Every time you create a theatrical opening to a serious
business proceedings it will be remembered. In addition to the great opening is
the great event theme song that will give you a LSS (Last Song Syndrome). In
fact, I cannot helped myself but sing and hum the song unaware that I was doing
it during the two days of the conference.
4.
The
Clark Airport Sponsored Lunch
MICECON Delegates were transported to the Clark Airport and
inside the airport the delegates were treated with Pampanga’s great food. The
dancing Cebu Stewardess performed. Food was served like the way it was being
served when you’re traveling in an airplane. For me, it is one of the best
sponsored themed meals I was in.
5.
The
Grand Palazzo Royale Masquerade Sponsored Dinner
I never thought that there is a Castle-like venue inside Pampanga.
Everyone is in awe upon seeing the magnificent venue of the Masquerade Ball.
The theme fits the majestic venue.
Indeed, MICECON 2014 is a memorable event. Clark showed the attractiveness of it's location as a MICE Destination. I can't wait to do an event here. Most of all, I can't wait to be part of the next MICECON.
