The First Filipino Therapist Conference and Expo - grandest gathering of Physical, Occupational
therapist, Speech Language Pathology and Pediatric therapy Professionals
happens this coming September 24-25 2011 at Crown Plaza, OrtigasCenter,
Philippines.
Endorsed by the Department of Health (DOH) and
Committee on Higher Education (CHED), the event’s theme this year is “Towards
Global Competitiveness of Filipino Therapists”. This year’s theme aims to
contribute to the growth of knowledge and development of skills of the
therapists and rehabilitation practitioners in the country.
The event convenes top local and
international speakers that will share their knowledge and expertise to our
Filipino Physical & Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologist. Among them
are Ms. Catherine Sherrington, PhD, MPH, BappSc NHMRC of Australia, Dr.Sabys Palanca,
Convenor of Spirituality in the Workplace, Ms.Celeste Sanchez, Divine Mercy
mobile School of Music and Arts, Ms. Kathryn Milano, Case Manager/Supervisor of
PIECES, Dr. Reynaldo Rey Matias, President, ASEAN Rehabilitation Medicine
Association, Ms.Ligaya Avenida, Executive President of Jeepnee and many more.
The event also highlights a forum that
comprises the Rehab Doctor, Therapists and Patient in a one of a kind exchange
of ideas that will surely enrich the event discussions.
The event is very timely as the Department
of Labour of United States projects a 30% increase of demand from 2008 to 2018
to this industry in their country.
